Find answers to common questions about our services, procedures, and aftercare guidelines
Pain levels vary depending on the location and your personal tolerance. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick pinch lasting only a second or two. Earlobe placements typically cause minimal discomfort, while cartilage or facial areas may be slightly more intense but remain manageable.
The actual procedure is remarkably fast - usually between 30 seconds and 2 minutes for the placement itself. Your appointment will last 20-30 minutes total, which includes consultation, marking the exact position, sterilization, and aftercare instructions. We use single-use needles and modern techniques to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible.
We exclusively use implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136) and solid 14k or 18k gold for initial placements. These materials meet international medical standards and minimize the risk of allergic reactions or complications. Titanium is particularly suitable for new work as it's hypoallergenic, lightweight, and promotes optimal healing.
For safety reasons, we cannot use jewellery you bring from outside sources for fresh work. External pieces may not meet sterilization standards or appropriate sizing for healing. However, once your placement has fully healed (typically 3-12 months depending on location), you're welcome to switch to your personal collection. We're happy to help with jewellery changes during follow-up visits.
Daily routine: Clean twice daily with sterile saline solution - spray directly onto the area and let it sit for 30 seconds, then gently pat dry with clean gauze or paper towel. Avoid cotton wool as fibres can catch on jewellery. Never rotate or move the jewellery during cleaning.
Products to avoid include alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, and antibacterial soaps, as these can irritate tissue and delay healing. We provide a complimentary saline spray with each service, and additional bottles are available for purchase. Keep the area dry between cleanings, avoid swimming pools and hot tubs for the first month, and don't sleep directly on fresh placements. Healing times range from 6-8 weeks for earlobes to 6-12 months for cartilage.
We provide services for clients aged 16 and above with valid photo identification. For those aged 16-17, a parent or legal guardian must be present throughout the appointment and provide written consent. We require government-issued ID from both the minor and the accompanying adult, plus proof of relationship (such as a birth certificate or court documents).
For clients 18 and older, only your own valid photo ID is needed - this can be a passport, driving licence, or national identity card. We strictly follow these age policies for health and legal reasons. Certain placements may have higher age requirements depending on complexity and healing considerations. Phone us in advance if you have specific questions about age requirements for particular services.
Some redness, mild swelling, and tenderness are normal for the first few days. However, contact us immediately if you experience excessive swelling that worsens after 48 hours, discharge that's yellow or green with an unpleasant odor, severe pain that increases rather than decreases, or fever above 38°C.
Do not remove the jewellery if you suspect infection, as this can trap bacteria inside and worsen the situation. Continue your saline cleaning routine and contact our studio - we offer free consultations for any concerns during the healing period. Most issues can be resolved with proper care adjustments. For serious symptoms like high fever or spreading redness, seek medical attention immediately and inform your doctor about your recent work. We're available during business hours for guidance and can schedule check-up appointments at no additional charge.
Yes, we provide jewellery changing services for fully healed placements. If you purchase new jewellery from our collection, the change is complimentary. For jewellery you bring from elsewhere, we charge £15 per placement change. This fee covers sterilization verification, professional insertion, and ensuring proper fit and placement.
We stock a curated selection of high-quality pieces in titanium, gold, and surgical steel, ranging from simple studs to decorative designs with gemstones. Prices start at £25 for basic titanium pieces and go up to £200+ for solid gold options with precious stones. Our specialists can advise on appropriate sizing and styles for your anatomy. First downsizing (typically needed 4-6 weeks after initial placement) is included free when you return to our studio. Book a jewellery consultation to explore options and ensure you choose pieces that suit both your style and healing stage.
A professional piercing studio in London, established with a commitment to safety, artistry, and client wellbeing.
Zetixo opened its doors in 2018 on Elm Close in London, founded by three body modification artists with 15 years of combined experience. We recognized a need for a studio that prioritized medical-grade sterilization alongside creative expression.
Starting with a single piercing room, we've expanded to a three-room facility equipped with an autoclave sterilization system and a dedicated consultation space. Our founding principle remains unchanged: every client deserves accurate information, sterile equipment, and skilled execution.
Today, we perform approximately 200 piercings monthly, from standard lobe piercings to complex cartilage work. Each procedure follows protocols developed through continuous training and adherence to Association of Professional Piercers guidelines.
Our mission is to provide body piercing services that meet medical safety standards while respecting individual style choices. We believe informed clients make better decisions about their body modifications.
Our team consists of four certified piercers, each holding current first aid certification and bloodborne pathogen training. We complete 40 hours of continuing education annually through workshops and industry conferences.
The studio maintains a Class B autoclave for instrument sterilization, with spore testing conducted weekly by an external laboratory. We use single-use needles exclusively, disposing of them in approved sharps containers immediately after each procedure.
We follow sterilization protocols that exceed local health department requirements. Every tool that touches skin is either single-use or autoclaved at 134°C for 18 minutes. Clients receive verbal and written aftercare instructions specific to their piercing type.
We discuss anatomy limitations, healing timeframes, and potential complications before any procedure. If your anatomy isn't suitable for a requested piercing, we explain why and suggest alternatives. No procedure is performed without informed consent.
Our piercers attend annual conferences and participate in peer review sessions monthly. We stay current with jewelry innovations, healing research, and technique refinements. This ongoing education directly benefits our clients through improved outcomes.
We serve clients aged 16 and older, requiring parental consent for those under 18. Our consultation process includes privacy, clear pricing, and time for questions. We accommodate nervous clients with breaks and support persons in the room when requested.
We aim to be recognized across London as a studio where safety standards and artistic skill coexist. Over the next three years, we plan to add a fourth piercer specializing in complex ear projects and expand our jewelry inventory to include more custom-fitted pieces.
We're committed to maintaining our appointment-based system, which allows adequate time for consultations and reduces client wait times. This approach has resulted in a 94% client satisfaction rate based on our annual surveys.
Visit us at 27 Elm Close to discuss your piercing plans. We're open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00. Consultations are free and can be scheduled by calling +44 20 7781 9250 or emailing [email protected].
